Unser viertes Gastspiel im Projektraum des Kunstraums Kreuzberg kombiniert Ausstellung und Buchpräsentation. Die Arbeiten der zehn Künstlerinnen und Künstler spielen auf unterschiedliche Weise mit der Herausforderung, ein und dasselbe Projekt sowohl an der Wand oder im Raum als auch in Form eines Buches vorzustellen. Dabei steht mal das Buch als Kunstwerk im Vordergrund, aus dem Bilder oder einzelne Seiten an der Wand gezeigt werden, mal sind die ausgestellten Bilder das zentrale Werk, während das Buch eher dessen Dokumentation darstellt. Die Bücher und Buchobjekte haben verschiedene Formate, vom Künstlerbuch als Unikat über Zine, Leporello und Loseblattsammlung bis hin zu klassischen Büchern in kleinen Auflagen. Alle erscheinen unter dem Dach unseres Verlags EDITION tunnel19.
Für an der Kunstform des Fotobuchs interessierte Besucher ist der Buchtalk mit Wolfgang Zurborn am 13.9. um 15 Uhr definitiv ein Highlight. Aber auch zu anderen Zeiten gibt es Gelegenheiten, tiefer in die Ausstellung einzutauchen: Die Künstlerinnen und Künstler sind an den Wochenenden alle anwesend; in der Woche führen wir im Wechsel die Aufsicht.

For our fourth exhibition as guests in Kunstquartier Bethanien’s project space in Kreuzberg, the photo collective tunnel19 combines exhibition with book launch. In their works, the ten artists explore in various ways, the challenge of presenting one and the same project on the wall or in the space, as well as in book format. At times, the book takes center stage as a work of art, with images or individual pages displayed on the wall. Other times, the exhibited images are the central work, while the book serves more as its documentation. The bound objects come in various formats, ranging from unique artists’ books to zines, leporellos and loose-leaf collections, right through to classic books in small print runs. Thus, each artist explores their own photographic theme through a play on wall and paper. All printed and bound works are published under the umbrella of our publishing house, EDITION tunnel19.
For visitors interested in the art form of the photobook, the book talk with Wolfgang Zurborn on 13 September at 3 p.m. is definitely a highlight. But there are opportunities to delve deeper into the exhibition at other times too: the artists are all present on weekends, and during the week we take turns staffing the show.
