Der Süden ist Schmerz
ist Mutter
ist Meer
ist nah an der Küste des anderen
und ein Traum der
nie in Erfüllung geht
oder doch?
er ist ein Klischee
ein Ziehen in der Brust
ein Eis in der Nacht
der Geruch von Hydrauliköl
und Pinien
und Sonnencreme von daheim
er ist zu laut
und zu süß
und zu brennend
in den Augen
er ist noch ein Weißwein bitte
und noch einen
und wieder Sonne morgen
und Liebe
und Hach
und vor allem
doch nicht ganz zu fassen.
Deshalb feiern wir ihn
mit Fotos und Musik
und Crémant und Weißwein
und mit euch.

Die Künstler:
David Varnhold
Aufgewachsen im Schatten eines gigantischen Stahlwerks, in einer Region, gesättigt mit Dreck und innerer Größe. Eine Familie mit Liebe. Auch in der Kindheit: der Duft der Pinien des Südens.
Studium der Geschichte an einer Universität aus purem Beton. Berlin! Bowie! Architektur! Frauen! Camus! Fotografie! Galerien in Berlin, Rom! Und immer wieder: der Süden und die Liebe. Ich freue mich auf Dich …

Lars Wagner
Arbeitet als freier Texter und Künstler in Berlin. Wenn er gerade nicht schreibt, hat er meistens eine Kamera in der Hand. Damit widmet er sich am liebsten den scheinbar unspektakulären und beiläufigen Momenten des Alltags und erforscht an ihnen die Eigenarten unseres Lebens. Und des Südens

is mother
is sea
is close to the other’s coast
and a dream that
never comes true
or does it?
it’s a cliché
a pulling in the chest
an ice cream in the night
the smell of hydraulic oil
and pine trees
and sunscreen from home
it is too loud
and too sweet
and too burning
in the eyes
it’s another white wine please
and another one
and sun again tomorrow
and love
and aww …
and above all
yet not quite tangible.
That’s why we celebrate it
with photos and music
and Crémant and white wine
and with you.
We can’t wait …

Growing up in the shadow of a gigantic steelworks, in a region saturated with dirt and inner greatness. A family with love. Even in childhood: the scent of the pine trees of the south. Studied history at a university made of pure concrete. Berlin! Bowie! Architecture!

Lars Wagner
Lars Wagner, born in 1977, works as a freelance copywriter and artist in Berlin. When he is not writing, he usually has a camera in his hand. He prefers to capture the seemingly unspectacular and casual moments of everyday life, using them to explore the peculiarities of the living…and of the south.
