Berlin ist dreckig und war es schon immer. Die meisten Großstädte weltweit sind irgendwie dreckig. In Berlin aber werden ganze Hausstände im öffentlichen Raum entsorgt und wochenlang nicht abgeholt. Wir ärgern uns. Gleichzeitig inspiriert uns der Müll. Denn wir sind schließlich Berliner.

Berlin is dirty and always has been. Most big cities around the world are dirty in some way. In Berlin, however, entire households are dumped in public spaces and not picked up for weeks. We are annoyed. At the same time, the garbage inspires us. After all, we are Berliners.

 

Tatiana Bulanova “Couch Searching“

Für Tatiana Bulanova ist “Couch Searching“ eine persönliche Auseinandersetzung mit Einwanderung, dem Finden eines neuen Zuhauses und der Einsamkeit in der Stadt. Sie versucht den sozialen Aspekt des „zu verschenken“ zu erforschen.

For Tatiana Bulanova, “couch searching” is a personal exploration of immigration, finding a new home and loneliness in the city. She tries to explore the social aspect of “zu verschenken”.

 

Lenka Kesting “Trash Therapy“

Lenka Kesting dichtet sich die vermüllte Realität schön. Sie versucht ihre Wut mit einer “Trash Therapy“ in den Griff zu bekommen indem sie entsorgte Einrichtungsgegenstände positiv deutet und zu Homestories arrangiert.

Lenka Kesting paints a beautiful picture of the littered reality. She tries to get a grip on her anger with “trash therapy” by interpreting discarded furnishings positively and arranging them into home stories.

Martin Kesting „Kopfkino“

Für Martin Kesting geht das „Kopfkino“ an, wenn er hunderte mit Körperflüssigkeiten durchtränkte Matratzen im öffentlichen Raum fotografiert. Es sind schließlich intimste Objekte, auf denen einmal geliebt, geträumt, geblutet und gestorben wurde.

For Martin Kesting, a “Kopfkino” starts when he photographs hundreds of mattresses soaked in bodily fluids in public spaces. After all, these are most intimate objects on which people once loved, dreamed, bled and died.
